Make sure that the text flows by rows (left to right) instead of by columns (top to bottom).
Use the <.th> tags for your column (and/or row) headers.
And don't forget to use the table's <.caption> tags.

I'm interested in learning some shortcuts into accessible tables as we have a
lot of them where I work. Which way should one approach an existing table (what
to look for first) to add the right IDs etc?
