Hi list,

This is still a hypothetical question, but it's been bugging me for the past
week so I hope someone can answer it.

The question:

I have a friend who has an MS Access database that he wants visitors to his
website to be able to search. He sells paint and nameplates to the model
railway trade, and therefore wants the visitor to the site to be able to
search by name, colour, class + number of the real locomotives to see whether
he produces what they need... He also wants the results of the search to be
written into a table.

Question Number 1: What would be the best way of doing this? I've looked up
ColdFusion and ASP, but haven't found if these are what is required. Are
there any free perl scripts that could do it? One problem I think might be
that the search can be very specific (For instance if you entered "Loch
Lomond" you only want entries about that locomotive to come up) or very
general (entering "red" as the colour)

Question Number 2: What server would I need? NT or Unix. If you have
something to say about these, please keep a look out for my other email,
which should appear in the next 48hrs about server systems.

Hope someone can help!
Peter.
