Chat Room

I'd like to install a chat room on one of my sites for a one time event, to 
take place in a couple of months. The idea is to allow visitors to talk to an 
expert in the field of cycling (bicycles) for about an hour. As such, the 
owner doesn't want to spend much money (if any) to buy software. I know there 
are sites which offer free chat rooms.

Has anyone had any experience with this? If so, are there any issues or 
particular problems which I should be looking out for? Are any of the free 
chats better than the others?
