Urgent help with cute ftp

Hi All

Have a silly problem.  I am doing a quote for a client who has a huge long
involved many linked site.
Would take forever to find all his pages and most of his photos are 100mb
big.  His pages crash my browser and as I am in South Africa the phonecalls
alone would cost a fortune.
He said it would be easier to get it via cute ftp and gave me passwords etc.

What I didn't tell him was that I have only downloaded and uploaded files.
When I download it removes the files from the server.
I have no idea how to get them and leave them there.  Gone through all the
menu's and help. Can't find a copy command.

Would hate to download his files and his website to disappear.  Wouldn't
make too good a first impression.
Can't really say " sorry - borrowed your site for a few days"
I am on the digest so if someone is out there who knows how to make sure the
files stay on the server while I download, could they please email me.
