Ah -- --- the blessings of Adobe on all EPS files.

An .eps file is actually nothing but a bunch of Postscript math
and as such, can usually be converted without
problem --especially one would think, with PhotoShop, an Adobe
product.

Things to watch for.

First off -- make sure the graphic is converted to RGB color.

That alone should cure most problems converting to .jpg. However,
if it does not do it, please attend the following blarney, some
of which, may even be helpful ... ?

2nd. Beware of text within the file. Although there is nothing
inherent in Postscript itself to cause problems, some programs do
some strange things to text. (The same sort of thing happens
occasionally in WMF files.)

3rd. Try converting to something else like TIFF first. .tif files
often come with .eps files to act as placeholders in page layout
programs. (Often--when it's included--the .tif "placeholder" has
all the resolution you will need for average web work.)

Note: When working in Canvas for example, imported EPS graphics
cause a pop-up screen to appear, advising the conversion of the
.eps file to a Canvas file. This is because Canvas can work
easier and more accurately with it's own format. Many other
programs have the same problems and ironically, this might--I
say, might--apply to PhotoShop as well.

4th. Convert the .eps file to .jpg in another program and then
import the .jpg file into PhotoShop to edit or modify it. There
is always more than one way to accomplish most tasks.

Sorry--After we got Canvas we dropped PhotoShop so I can not give
you more detailed step by steps. Perhaps some of the others still
using PShop can be more explicit.

Best wishes
