http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/#xhtml-basic uses what they refer to as "basic
tables", which leads me to believe that there has been some limitations
imposed (I haven't read the whole spec, yet...need to finish my latest
Batman first)...?

Nah...even if they are deprecated, it doesn't mean we won't be using
them...just that, someday, we may not have to.  Tables are clumsy, at best,
for layout purposes, and it is a tribute to our profession that so many
designers have found so many ways to make them do so much.  Personally, I'd
love to see a more versatile system (CSS!) come into common use...but I
don't stay up late waiting...:)

Heh...I don't think even the Great Fuzzy can get 2.x to understand XHTML
Basic with multiple stylesheets, so you'd best not write off your TDs yet!
