Now, of course, most employers are insane, but you COULD ask for more
details on what they perceive to be the scope and timeline of your work and
the role that the "undefined" others would play in it. The "right" employer
might appreciate your perspective towards a large project...

Of course, it could lose you the job too. But then you are probably better
off anyway (unless it's a "starter job" at a bigger place that will put you
on the road to training and bigger and better things. Then just eat the
grief for six months, a year, a book to somewhere else if they are making
you old).
