Jay:

Using Windows 95, you can change the "default" printer in the Printers
section of Control Panel:
 Start> Settings> Control Panel> Printers.

Actually, you should find a place to do this same thing in most Print Dialog
Screens. Once set, the new printer will become the default printer for all
programs EXCEPT:

Those programs, Word, Canvas, etc. that have had work saved with another
printer, (Fax, Acrobat, Color Inkjet and/or Laser printer, as the case may
be.) Those saved files will default back to the printer chosen when the file
was saved.

For example --Have you ever done a Save As in Internet Explorer?? If so,
whatever printer was set at the time, may now be the default printer in IE.
In which case, you may have to do another Save as --making sure that the
printer you wish as default is checked when the file is "saved".

Otherwise, setting the default printer in Windows should do it.

But remember, if you use Acrobat to create a PDF, it "may" be resetting your
Windows default printer. Thus when you then go to print out something in IE,
the printer will still be set at Acrobat. In fact, my daughter--who creates
a LOT of PDF's is always complaining about this very thing.

Also, some "proprietary" versions of IE, (those CD's we all get in the mail
with IE-5+ courtesy of such and such), may have strange settings defaulted
for one reason or another by the "people" who supplied the CD.

Best wishes
