I can understand the train of thought here...what I can't understand is how
anyone could get a site to validate fully. My understanding was that you
had to make sure you knew what the exceptions were, and why they were being
kept? Obviously, we are going to use tables for layout and copy management,
because CSS support isn't there. Obviously we are going to use .<<.embed>>,
for the same reason...?? There are other exceptions, too, and fully
validating code is not something I expect to use until full supportive
browsers are the norm.

Given all that (!), it seems that the validator's best purpose is to check
the code for *errors*, as opposed to full compliancy. Now, when *should* it
be displayed...??

Excellent Point Sue!! I have been searched for sites with this logo and of
the 19 sites I looked at, NONE passed validation. The link to W3C worked on
all but one. So why would anyone want to put this logo on their site
knowing the site won't validate??? Anyone care to comment, that is
displaying the logo on a invalid site? Is it just eye candy to show off?

Can someone direct me to a site with the logo that does validate, I would
like to look at one.
