A configuration file recognized by Apache.  Allows you (if the host has
allowed this) to change the default Apache settings of the directories in
your site.

I was checking out the link that Jim Barchuk provided us with that deals
with SSI.  I got stumped early on by a reference to a .htaccess file.  What
is that?
