Here I go with more negative vibes than Donald Sutherland talked about in
the movie, "Kelly's Heroes".

I no longer have FrontPage Express, (Having the full but "older" FP-98).
Still, I was surprised to learn that it included the Search Engine feature.

Although MOST FP features do NOT require FrontPage Extensions, I "think"
that the search feature DOES require them. At least, for the spider-ing
part.

>From the discussions that I see on the FrontPage list, it would appear that
the Search feature is not exactly, the most fool proof goodie that Microsoft
ever created. (Actually, I understand it was an applet they acquired
somewhere and threw in.--They may have been well advised to have created
their own.)

As my own ISP's do NOT have the Extensions, I have never tried to use this
feature. BUT-- There are at least two add-on search engines that work VERY
slick.

One is:
http://www.atomz.com/
and the second:
http://www.freefind.com/

I use FreeFind myself. They employ a wizard to set up your search
parameters, including what to search--from one page to several web
sites--when and how often to search--they include a site map and a What's
New feature to alert visitors to new items on your site. It quick--it's
slick--it's free. And to top it off, they send you a weekly report of
keywords used, etc. Also, it handles large sites, so unless the site, (or
sites) have thousands and thousands of pages, it does a neat job.

The catch?? They return whole pages. So one needs to break up the various
subjects to individual pages. Second catch: The site has to be available on
the web for the spider-ing part. So it won't work on an intranet.

BTW--Unless I missed it somewhere--in the code example you sent--I don't see
where the area to be included in the search has been stated. Not sure how
important it is but it does seem to come up in the FrontPage discussions of
faulty search returns.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
Best wishes
