IE Input Fields Insert Mode

I'm putting together a multipage form for work with default values in the
text fields.
Users have to press insert on the keyboard to to switch modes and overwrite
the data (or delete it). The issue is this: IE switches back. Anybody know
of anyway I can make overwrite the default condition, some HTML code or
script piece? At this point I'm annoyed with my own form and having to hit
that key....
