You have all the options in the world.
a. You could use CGI (Common Gateway Interface) counting scripts, if
   you have access to the CGI-BIN directory (if you're not sure, ask
   your hosting company's support). Visit some scripting site like
   Freecode [1], Free Scripts [2], CGI Resources [3], Extropia [4],
   WebScripts [5], Matt's Script Archive [6], FreeScripts Net [7], The
   CGI Collection [8], The CGI Directory [9], Get Free Scripts [10],
   CGI Guru [11] etc.
b. You could use some ready-made counter from places like Toolzone
   [12], CGI For Me [13], Web-Stat [14], The Counter [15], etc.
c. You could use JS + cookie for dynamic counting, targeted at the
   user, that is, "This is your XXXXth visit".

A visit to Counter Guide [16], Counters Guide [17] and Web Page
Counters [18] is highly recommended for you.
