I agree. If you're after something as cheap as Notepad (i.e. free), then I
find Webford rather good. I just wish the cut & paste would work
properly.... :o

On the subject of Frontpage Express - I have IE at work but (for whatever
reason) they have not deemed to give us Frontpage (do we get if free in
Britain ?). Is there a free download of it anywhere ?

Cheers,
David Artiss.

Pat:
I suspect that there will be those who disagree, (loudly) but I
am going to suggest it anyway.
NotePad is a rather POOR HTML editor. (There I said it !!)
There are a half dozen other text editors on the market, (some
even free) that do a better job. One free one is CuteHTML
http://www.cuteftp.com/
Also, if you already have IE-4 (+) on your machine you must,
(may), have FrontPage Express. The View HTML feature in that
small program allows you to edit the raw code and saving them
will not cause your files to end up with a .txt extension.
Contrary to popular belief, it will almost never "change" you
code unless you go into the normal view and start "mouse-ing"
around. Standard procedure is to "rough" it out visually and then
clean up any code your ego convinces you that you can do better.
It is also kind of nice to have around, for the occasional head
scratcher one runs into with tables. (Kind of nice to be able to
actually see them.) I mention FP Express simply because you
probably already have it available.
Best wishes
