I strongly advise against playing BG sounds continuously. Not only is it
annoying, but, it will discourage visitors from returning to the site.

Always provide an easy console control for stopping the sound. This way the
visitor is in control and not you (which is more comfortable to the
visitor). The ideal is to provide a stop AND start controller  and let the
visitor make the decision.
