JavaScript works within the browser environment, and has no access to disk
files.  Such things were intentionally excluded from the language.

To the best of my knowledge, the only evil JS can effect is as a support
mechanism for things like applets or popup windows that might have embedded
scripting with more punch.  In the jungle of scripting, JS alone is next to
fang-less.

Of course, on the annoyance level, there's plenty of ways to abuse this
language...can you say "popup"...?

What problems does JavaScript have? How can it touch your data files and
software. I just don't think it can but I'd like to know how it can if it
does?
