Not many people know this, but Microsoft makes available a FREE PowerPoint
Viewer that you can download from their website:

Windows 95/98/2000/NT-
http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/2000/downloadDetails/Ppview97.htm
Macintosh- http://www.microsoft.com/macoffice/productinfo/98dl/pptvdl.htm

As with any viewer, it only allows you to view the document and not create
or edit it. After installing, make it a helper application for your browser
and wala! you can view a PowerPoint file on your website with one click of
the mouse!

Microsoft has done a poor job of getting the word out, but it also has free
viewers available for some of its other 'Office' products at:

http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/Articles/viewerscvt.htm

The other route you could go is to convert the PowerPoint document to 'pdf'
format using Adobe Acrobat. With 'pdf' format you get these benefits:

- greater platform support
- better client acceptance (Acrobat Viewer is infinately more widely
recognized than any of the office viewers)
- 'pdf' files are smaller making download time shorter
- Acrobat Viewer is also free
