Spend money on books if you must but some of the best material is on the web
for free. Just one example is: http://www.htmlprimer.com/

The only thing that some would find wrong here--is that this site was
designed for those who have never before "heard" of HTML. It takes it one
step at a time with plenty of examples. Still--you would be hard pressed to
find one simpler or easier to understand.

There are other equally good sites as well--some even interactive.

Additional ongoing help is available by downloading some of the web page
authoring tools such as the Platypus JavaScript Editor, www.c-point.com ,
which has drop down menus for inserting both JavaScript and HTML tags.
Invaluable when the mind goes blank trying to remember a certain tag.

And of course, many find programs like FrontPage worth their weight in gold
pressed latinum. Example: Set up you tables in the WYSIWYG part and turn to
the HTML view to see the code all laid out for you. Just cut and paste.

Best wishes
