That would indeed be a huge file.

I had a similar idea a few weeks ago (for XHTML), where I wanted to build up
a handy reference, based on the DTD, but found it had already been done.

It may not be exactly what Ed had in mind, but if you look at their (FREE)
Reference material, there's XHTML, CSS 1, CSS 2 and much more...  Can't see
HTML4.01 there, but XHTML1 is not that different (and newer)

If it doesn't help Ed, it might help someone else.  Certainly helped me come
to grips with XHTML 1 Strict.
