Form help

Jim the Newbie Html writer here. I am experimenting with forms and need 
help.

I have a basic test form and setup that sends it's data to a cgi script. 
The script then emails me the results in a nice readable format. So far 
so good...

What I would like to try next is to , instead of the script emailing me 
the results, save the form data in a file on the server. I think this is 
possible but don't know how to impliment it. Help please.=

What I would like to happen eventually is have a form and script that 
actually converts the form data to a web page. Example: have users fill 
out a form with info related to something they want to sell. Then have 
that data directly inserted in an "Want Ad" section of my web pages.
