It *totally* depends on whether the viewer is using the browser at
full-screen, or just using a portion of the screen.  It also depends on how
many tool bars they are using...and don't forget AOL, who does things their
own way just to spite Microsoft and take over the world...:).

The best thing here is to say that it may vary by user, and then ask the
client what configuration they use oin their machine.  Tell the person you
need to know because it can only work if everything is set a certain way,
and you want to make sure, since it can't work for everyone, that it looks
right when they see it...:)

I have a client who wants each page on their site to exactly fill the
screen (and not require scrolling) for both Netscape and Explorer on
BOTH Mac and Windows platforms. I can do this with style sheets, but I
need to know how much space is available. I only have access to Macs so
I need Windows info, plus I would be interested in hearing what other
Mac users calculate on their machines.

I have never focused on the exact pixel space, but this client is a real
pain.
