One of the things that is interesting is to look at the new 508
accessiblity guideline for client side scripting.

Go to the section on Scripts. If you follow those guidelines (which are
VERY reasonable in my opinion), then you can easily hava good JavaScript
in a web site, that enhances user experiences and the site will also
work well without any scripting.

Today it is to the point where alt tags for images used to be, where
they were a real bear to retro-fit into a web site, but if they were
used and thoughtfully designed in from the git-go, they worked and do
work beautifully.
