Exiting a site

Hi all,

I am currently trying to convince a website to display a new page when 
someone tries to leave the site.  I know things can be done with Javascript 
with window.close() functions, and I guess there is a way to do things when 
someone links to any new page, but, I only want this pop-up to occur when 
the person actually leaves this specific site (a kind of "before you go can 
I ask a few questions..." message).  Clearly they can leave from any page on 
the site, so I need a blanket effect.

Any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated!
