<TEXTAREA> size values question

Is there anyway to set the <TEXTAREA> size other than <TEXTAREA COLS="some 
number" ROWS="some number"> ?  It would be nice if you could set it like 
tables with a width specified in a % of screen and align it to center or 
either margin.  Does anyone know of a way to do this?  I've looked in the 
documentation I have and couldn't find anything.  Thanks.
