re: image reduction woes

A few days ago, I posted a question about reducing
images to make legible thumbnails and screenshots. 

Many of you were kind enough to contact me off-list,
but wanted to know more about the images in question
and the image editor I was using.  I've created a page
with the images in question and more information about
what exactly I'm trying to
accomplish(http://members.xoom.com/skyamese2/screenshots.htm).

The images are large and haven't been optimized very
much, so I apologize in advance for the slow download.
