Hi Sandy,

Honesty is the best policy. Let your client know that you are willing to do
the design work for him once he can put his wishes into writing.

You do run into some strange cases. I once had a client ask me what a web
site looks like...he had never been online. He asked me this AFTER the sale
had been closed.

Another client knew what he wanted down to exact pixel position, and was
greatly dissappointed that his site wouldn't display to his exact
specifications across all browsers.

Another client, still, would call me in for strategy sessions at least once
a week, then waste my entire morning by going into excruciatingly long
monlogues about the history of Europe.

I have a person now who I did a web site for, finished the site, and I've
explained several times that I'm too busy to make any further changes to his
site, that he should look for another designer. (He was trouble the 1st time
around). Yet, he persists in calling every few weeks to ask when we can get
together to discuss some additional jobs he has. He's the client who just
won't go away!

So, Sandy, just smile a lot but stick to your guns.

Larry
