I think I found a free web space server that allows remote loading.

Virginia and Roy, thanks for your replies to my query
about free web space servers that allow remote
loading.

In the course of my search, I found out that
FREESERVERS does not allow remote loading.  Nor did
SPREE, which was a site I was going to try.  I looked
at HyperMart but they only cater to business sites. 
And my TRIPOD sites are anything but that.

So, after some more hunting about, I came across
FORTUNECITY.  I signed up for an account and uploaded
a few images.  Then I went to some guestbooks and I
tried out the newly uploaded images.  They worked.

Therefore, I'm going to stick with this page server.

Virginia, I will keep your suggestion in mind.  That
might come in handy down the line.  But right now,
it's just not feasible.

And Roy, thanks for getting in touch with me.  I do
appreciate you taking the time to help.
