Scanner Interfaces...

Hi all...

I appologize if this query is out of place, but this is the only place that I 
could think of that can help me with my question. :-)

I'm looking to purchase a flatbed scanner. I've been looking around on the 
internet and I noticed that some scanners have various interfaces: USB, 
parallel, and SCSI. What are interfaces and how do I know which interface is 
right for my computer?
