IE 5.5 image problem

Hello List -

A few months back, my system crashed and I had to re-install IE. I did so
through Microsoft's web site, which was an on-line installer. I had been
using IE 5.0, but the new version, 5.5 was what was installed on my machine
by the auto-installer at MS. Now, animated graphics on sites that I visit
flicker like crazy, and when I mouse over ANY link on a page that contains
such graphics, every image on the page "blinks" for an instant.

Anyone else had this happen? Do you have a fix?
