Script help

I have an index bar on a web site that uses mouseover and mousedown as well
as default images. There is a script at the top of the page that is
supposed to preload all of the images. However it doesn't appear to be
working. I'd appreciate it if someone could look at the script and tell me
what I've done wrong. You can view just the index bar at:
