I think this is one of those times less will be more - especially in the
long run.

Here's my *suggestion* based on *opinion* and too much experience:

Focus on building pages you can click on and say:

"See, these pages work on all browsers, on all operating systems,
world-wide. Even sight and hearing impaired people can use your web site!
Do you want to see a few thousand retailer's sites that were not smart
enough to use our company for their development project? Their pages ARE
unstable and thus unpredictable in their display. That could very well
leave a bad impression on their customers, don't you think?"

Prove it by offering links to the W3 validator, and the hwg site.

Trust me. Chances are that whether you can make a cool wallpaper appear or
not, you are going to have more work that you care for.

Again. Not Directions or Instructions. Simply opinion and an attempt to
imply a concept of the root level need for writing standards compliant HTML
~ whenever possible.
