This technique will only work for pages that are listed in search engines!

You need to consider a policy of "live and let live - eternally!!"  One you 
have created a page you should NEVER destroy that URL just in case someone 
does link to it.  You can re-use it, or shift it to another place, but 
always put a referring page in it's place.  Adopting such a policy makes 
you very careful about the way you then design your site.
