Slicing and dicing is a PITA.  You are even more reliant on the user's 
browser for the display occurring correctly.  An imagemap is fine provided 
there is a text-equivalent.

Don't forget that ONLY using an imagemap assumes all members of your 
audience know which areas of the image are clickable!!  Many novice users 
struggle with imagemaps.  The text alternative provides increased 
accessibility for not only disabled users.
