Just to jump in - the resolution on my monitor was changed.  I had started 
out at 800X600, then deliberately changed it to a higher setting to better 
read the navigation.  But after I changed it to 1024X680, it reverted back to 
the 800X600 after a few seconds.  I rechecked my settings and yes, my monitor 
resolution had been changed.

Bit scary....
