Identifying visitors using .htaccess/htpasswd

Hi,

For one of my customers I'm using .htaccess/htpasswd for a closed usergroup.
Now the customer wants personal pages.
Is it possible to use the username from the login sequence for this purpose?

Where can I find more information about this?
