JavaScript errors

Hi All,

I hope this isn't a redundant question you've answered a multitude of
times already.

According to the WE3 Validator the code from my Extreme counter is 
throwing the following error. I suspect this is a problem 
transferring the code from a PC to a MAC via email. I have put my own 
comments in between [[ ]]s

        Error: unknown entity "j" (explanation...)

[[This comes right after the ampersand after the name of my counter -- loriweb.
I'm using DOC type 4.01 Transitional. I get a similar error from a 
web ring. Can you tell me how to fix this please.]]
