Hi Keith

>I would NOT recommend just giving up and moving on "cutting your losses". There are laws governing copyright infringements with stiff penalties. ISP's DO have certain responsibilities in these cases if they are informed of the situation. Just "giving up" simply opens the door for others. If someone stole cash from your bank account, would you just give up because it's too much trouble to go through the process.

They are refusing to do anything--told me to get a lawyer.

>If Lori designed the images and wrote the poetry, then it is HERS, NOT THE CLIENTS unless the client paid her to do the work on his behalf with the understanding that he/she then owns the work.

>I strongly disagree with just giving it up for nothing. A good graphic
designer and/or web site programmer spends lots of time creating things and should not be allowed to be taken advantage of just because his/her pockets are not deep enough to afford a high-priced laywer.

Thanks for your encouragement Keith but I'm moving today so had extra expenses this month (besides the fact another client filed bankruptsy and I'm not getting paid for that job either and 3 other clients are late with payment), so I don't even have enough money to send myself a certified letter with a copy of the page of my copyrighted poetry that he has his copyright stamp on it--let alone hire a lawyer.

The only recourse I had was to post a message on two of my web sites (that average about 4,000 hits per week) telling people what he has done and asking them to write him so he will release my intellectual property. He has already threatened to sue me for "harrassment" so my speaking out the truth on this matter shouldn't hurt anything. You can view it at www.loriswebs.com/lorispoetry/

I appreciate everyone trying to help me with this matter with their very helpful advice.

take care
Lori
