Thanks - they were BMP's

Thanks for all your help.

The images on www.1stgearmtc.co.uk were indeed .bmp's
As usual the list came to the rescue!

It would appear that Netscape has a sense of humour failure with .bmp's, 
prefering .gif or .jpg
