Generally the number codes (8xxx) are supported further back (NN4) but the 
names (&trade;) are easier to remember.

I have a list at http://www.tntluoma.com/sidebars/codes/ that is suitable 
for use as an Opera Panel or Mozilla/Netscape Sidebar so you cna keep it 
for quick reference.
