Actually to do it properly you'd need:
<SUP><FONT SIZE="-1"><acronym title="Trademark">TM</acronym></FONT></SUP>
But if we get to cleaner markup this would be better
<span class="trademark"><acronym title="Trademark">TM</acronym></span>
But it would be much, much simpler and better to use ™ or ™
