It's accomplished using DHTML (which combines HTML, JavaScript and CSS). =
I'll not go into the details, but it works like this.

You have your website, with hidden layers that hold the "popup" information=
. When the mouse passes over a link, line of text, etc., a JavaScript =
event is trigged that makes the layer visible. When the mouse passes off =
the link, line of text, etc., another JavaScript event is triggered that =
makes the layer invisible again.

Hope that helps to at least explain the theory.

An easy question for some of you experts:

I have seen sites (almost always professionally=20
done) which, when the cursor is placed=20
over links (usually menu options) a small pop-up=20
window appears. This small window usually=20
displays something along the line of a sub menu,
or possibly a description of what is available if=20
that main menu option is selected. =20

How do thay do that?? I assume it's some sort
of JavaScript thing but am not sure.

Thanks

Ray
