Dual image flips w/links

I need help understanding how dual image flips work. I've seen them 
used in a few places. The second image flip also has active 
hyperlinks. This makes it easy to get to many places in a site from 
only one click. I want to experiment with this idea.

If I haven't explained myself well enough, I know Apple's support 
page incorporates this (and I've seen it in many other sites).

How compatible is a feature like this? Is it limited to version 4.x 
browsers only? Can it be recreated using Dreamweaver 3?
