Hi.

I'm the lead developer for a small group involved in the Role Playing games
industry; currently, we're unofficially a non-profit organisation; this will
change next year, though.

We'll shortly (in the next year, maximum), be releasing a new, hopefuly
successful, role playing game, and we want to be able to sell this with as
little in the way of up-front costs as possible, as we've a tight budget.

This has led us to consider the possibility of selling our product over the
world wide web; the problem that we face is one of control; once the product
is sold, and delivered (presumably as a PDF file) to the consumer, we lose
control over what the consumer does with it, and the worst case scenario is
that the purchaser will place the document on the WWW, and distribute it for
free.

With the above in mind, is there any system that you folks know about, that
could prevent this from happening?

Please also note that I subscribe to the digest version of this list!

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Roger Stenning
