I have a very small web design business. I am on salary with one company so
I really just pick and choose a few other sites to do at this time. I don't
advertise and rarely get any calls or e-mails from potential clients. I do
have my own web site that is registered with search engines.

All of a sudden (the past 3-4 months) I am getting a *lot* of e-mails asking
for quotes. All but 1 of the e-mails has been from an AOL address. They
are all usually pretty vague (i.e. "how much is a web site?") and some have
poor spelling and punctuation. They usually give a name and some have even
given a business name. I've had a friend on AOL look up their user names
and there's never a profile for them.

I guess I'm just a little suspicious of all this and wondering if this was a
normal thing. I don't know why it's all AOL users though.

Any thoughts??
Gina
