You may want to consider requesting everything up
front for smaller jobs. In other words, if it's less
than $300, have 'em pay for everything before you even
start working. If it's more than that, break it up
into smaller chunks.

Either way, make sure you've got the bulk of your
money before you upload the site to the client's
webhost. Otherwise, you may have problems collecting
the balance due.
