I did not clip out the blurb, nor do I remember where I saw it (we get 15-20 industry publications a week).. but I remember seeing that a suite had been filed to block the merger or that the Commerce Department was investigating anti-trust. There also was a discussion on the openssl mail list.

No matter who they are, two of the major competitors in the world in ANY industry will draw heavy flak from the powers-that-be.
