hosting features

Hi!

In searching and comparing web site hosts, I find I'm not sure about some of 
the features offered......

1. What is the difference between email forwarding and aliasing?
2. Does the geographical location of the host matter?
3. I'm not sure what transfer/month means (for example, 
    25 MB/month)
4. Traffic/hits.....if one is allowed 1 Gig/month, does that mean   however 
many hits x the KB size of my pages up to the 1 Gig?    How is that realted 
to bandwidth?

I do have more questions, but these may help me figure out the rest of them!
