I'd like to add a practical comment to the stylistic ones contained herein
and that is that the buttons on the right side run off my screen, and it is
a pain to have to scroll right to select a command. The buttons should be
more accessible, and/or perhaps a second GUI on another part of the page.

Well... you asked for it and being a 'web design' company you really set
yourself up for the third degree.

The positive:
The site loades fast and is clean. The white space versus content space is
nice and feels balanced.

The negative:
The layout is blocky and rigid. The shapes and textures too redundant.
Everywhere i look i see the same graphic in a different shape or position.
Boring. There is no variety or aesthetic appeal after an initial glance.
The
background in the graphics is interesting but suffers from being contained
in
tables and there is a glaring lack of originality in execution. You
absolutely
must lose the left side of the screen stripe with the drop shadow! These
stripes used to be functional in the days when design possibilities where
limited. Today there is no excuse as the entire page is free range and
should
be explored. I agree with the no 'bells and whistles' philosophy you
posit...
but from what i can see... you can still improve on the simple touches.

Overall... the site is redundant and unstimulating. As an amatuer homepage
it
would be sufficient and worth some degree of applause but as a promotional
vehicle for a web design studio it missed the mark. Also, it would be nice
to
probably add a hyperlink on the testimonial page to the person's site that
gives the testimonial.

I hope you do not take this critique as an attack on your work. That is
certainly not my intention. I just find that it lacks originality and style
for
a 'provider of internet presence'. And being such, the site sets itself up
for
harsher criticism than the typical site we see here.
