Hi,
The reason your background image isn't showing is
a)the <body> tag should come after the <head> tag - not before.
b)you have missed out the " after star.gif

There is also an extra " after TEXT="#000000"

You have an opening <center> tag but no closing </center> so the two images
will be aligned left by default.

Not sure what you mean by the star trek borders.

Also I've just noticed that although the images are in a table there is no
closing </td> tag after stargame.gif.
