James,

I took a look at your site with IE 4.0 and and NN 4.04, frames and no-frames
version.

The frames navbar with mouseovers works nicely and looks good. All the links
I tried also worked.

I found the backgrounds in the main frame inconsistent. I realise that the
papers are on a separate site, and therefore would be different, but you
don't have a consistent background for your own pages. Personally I liked
the plain black one best, but this turned out to be the background colour
before the real bg image loaded!

Content looks good and detailed, I'm not really into this stuff, myself. I
did find that the calendar gif was not clear, you could maybe provide a
larger version to view, as well as the download.

All in all, pretty good.

Marion

Hello Neighbors, and Fellow children of Earth:

Michael West has made many good points in his resent letter to the list.
I recently requested a critique from the list. I got only one reply and
the advice given by Susan Daniels was vary helpful and gave me insight to
this world of webmasters.

I have been a Guild member for a little over a month and have lurked and
posted to a few of the lists. I've asked question that were answered by
many, and most of them far more then just helpful. I thank the Guild for
having Trial membership, for it's the only way I could have joined.

As a Webmaster, you have far more to keep in mind than pretty pictures,
you need compatibility with the world. I design for Netscape, test in
Internet Explorer, both version 4 or above, but I keep compatibility for
earlier browsers. I don't use Style Sheets, nor do I need them. Pure HTML,
JavaScript and PERL are the only codes worth the net, as far as I'm
concerned. Java is a little harder to learn than these others but I'm
working on it.

I'm also learning C++ now, but it wouldn't have happened without HTML,
this code taught me what all programmers have to know. The understanding of
programming fundamentals.

I would like some more impute about my site, I'm still working on it, or
I should say redoing it (It's been up for more then two years now.) and
would like to hear what others think.

    Please Critique my Site.
